Case Study: The Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group

The Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) is the UK's only independent and dedicated provider of environmental and conservation advice and consultancy to farmers and crofters. Formed in 1969, FWAG has grown into a network of 120 highly skilled Farm Conservation Advisers located within 55 regional and county groups across the UK.

FWAG have commissioned us to develop Engino as their complete nationwide administration system serving head office plus 55 regional offices. This includes back-office membership management, project management, a shared knowledge base and full integration with the main website and further local office "mini-sites".

Key feature: Back office administration

Engino comes with a comprehensive back-office console capable of managing a wide range of administrative functions. In FWAG's case, it's their sole administration system that includes:

  1. Customer relationship management
  2. Managing membership subscriptions
  3. Managing jobs for clients and funded projects
  4. Group mailing
  5. Shared knowledge base (intranet)
  6. Comprehensive online query-builder against contacts and orders for step processes, document exports and data analysis

There are many advantages to using Engino as your single integrated system, but our focus is on community building, so we're completely open to integrating with a third-party database system if you prefer.

Key feature: Local sites

Engino is capable of creating multiple mini-sites from a single database and of assigning permissions in such a way that each site can be managed by a different user or group of users. These mini-sites can stand alone, with their own independent domain name, or they can sit embedded in your main website.

In FWAG's case, the mini-site's are embedded in the main site, with one for each country, region and local group. Take a look at the site created by the England team.
